The Art of Storytelling Workshops
THE INNER STORY

4 Tuesday evenings, beginning on the 3rd of June. 7pm till 9.30pm @ the Friends Meeting House ship Street Brighton. Costs 5 pounds. 4 pounds concessions.

Come and enjoy a two part Tuesday evenings workshops, one half will be a performance of storytelling jokes, songs, and music. In the other half we will explore the roots of the oral storytelling tradition, Character archetypes, themes and motifs, in ancient and modern, epic and folk narratives.. We will play games to develop skills of listening and telling. Discover insights into our inner story in order to empower us and give us the perspective to over come obstacles and realize our full potential.

Adam William Strong is an enthusiastic storytelling wordsmith, singer, musician. His great love for myths, legends and folk stories of the world have been growing since he was knee high to a grass hopper, Over the years he has studied with master storytellers and Celtic Bard Robin Williams (Ex incredible string band member.)Ashley Ramsden of Emerson storytelling collage and Brightons own Pat Bowen. He has a long experience in leading workshops and public speaking on esoteric knowledge and myths. Adam has been an apprentice to Colombian Shaman Don Cesar Mundaka for the last 6 years.

Tuesday 10th of June. THE HEROS QUEST ….Exploring male archetypes, the all Father, from boy to man, the healing journey. Courage and truth.

Tuesday 17th of June THE WAY OF WOMEN. Exploring female archetypes, the Heroin, mother maiden and crone . From Girl to women. Innocence and knowledge, love and wisdom.

Tuesday 24th of June. THE INNER STORY. Deep down under ground flows the secret spring of life’s waters, Dreams visions Finding our place in the inner story.

Michael Ormiston is Britain’s foremost Mongolian Khöömii (overtone) singer, a remarkable style where one person sings two notes at the same time! His voice can be heard on “The Golden Compass” Hollywood film; David Attenborough’s wildlife series Planet Earth, & heard in concert by H.H. the Dalai Lama.

Candida Valentino is the only western woman to have been blessed to teach Mongolian Khöömii (overtone) singing. Candida has worked with the RSC in the production of The Tempest. Both she and Michael lead Overtone Singing, Gong and Tibetan Singing Bowl workshops in the UK & Europe.

Mongolian Khőőmii (overtone) singing Workshop

Khöömii is an amazing style of overtone/harmonic singing where one person sings two or more distinct pitches at the same time. It originates among the nomads of the central Asian plateau, particularly the Altai and Sayan mountain regions of Mongolia and Tuva. The nomads of these parts have discovered how to sing melodies that arise from the universal harmonic overtone series.

Listen to your own overtones as you discover the unknown depths and heights of your own voice.
The workshop is open to anyone who wishes to explore the harmonic nature of their voice..

Michael Ormistonis Britain’s foremost Mongolian Khöömii (overtone) singer, being one of the only non-Mongolians able to sing Khöömii. His voice has been used in Hollywood films, David Attenborough’s acclaimed wildlife series Planet Earth, and heard in concert by H.H. the Dalai Lama.

He has travelled to Mongolia 6 times since 1993 where he studied with Khöömii singers Tserendavaa, Gereltosgt, Tsogbadraa & Tsengedorj.

He and Candida are the only Europeans blessed to teach the basic practices of Mongolian Khöömii by Tserendavaa & Gereltsogt.
