After 9 monthly programs it is time now for Vision Shack to move to another level. The August program is going to begin a process of departure from the fairly standard structure of talk interspersed with recorded and live music. The form is not fully defined and I am working mainly with trust in a process that is of itself.

There will most likely be 6 guests: Chrissie Rose, Frank Jay, Howard Tonkin, Ian Dell, Nathaniel White and Susie Rees. They will speak for themselves but they are all extraordinary people in their own right.

As the second in a series of summary/new departure shows, the subject matter is a question I have asked them all to dwell upon and consider: What is Human Work?

Contrary to the emphasis placed culturally upon the question What do you do? as an attempt to define who we are, the show will examine human functions and aspirations, survival and development, in an attempt to envision more dynamic ways for a truly creative contribution to processes of change that we all require, to make the transition from where we are to a more fitting future and possibility than the apparent road to annihilation before us. The out-dated world of 20th century culture shudders with fear as it sees all that it took for granted under threat. Overtly, we see those who cling to the past in fear adding more carriages to the train that is clearly headed for a cataclysmic crash, yet there are thousands of simple solutions being born.

Most of the music, some recorded some live, is being provided by Ian K. Dell, a musician who has appeared with me on BrightonPhlux, RadioReverb a couple of times. It is worth tuning in just to hear his rare genius. Some of his music has never been heard before.

You can listen to the last 9 shows & other stuff at: http://visionshack.ning.com/ or use this link to a written summary of the programs:
